The M18 FUEL 2836-20 is a HUGE upgrade in power, with lower vibrations than many other OMTs.

Thanks to Milwaukee Tools for providing a review sample!

Great video. I just got mine today and first thing I noticed was the slightly loose battery connection. Lol. Glad to know it’s not an abnormality!

I just got the older version and looked up and they had a fuel and stumbled across your video, I'm heading back now to return and get the fuel thanks !!

Good review, thank you. It has helped me decide to go for the Fuel. I think the extra cost is justified mainly for the reduced vibration as using them for long periods your hands get battered and vibration can lead to long term issues. Regarding that nut for the depth stop, I think i'll just glue it in to prevent the inevitable ! Chris. UK.

Tip: when you put a blade on, finger tighten the locking screw, but then back it off a quarter turn, then lock it down with the lever, and it will hold tight, but still be easy to remove next time....

Saved me with the battery comment. I purchased mine and noticed the connector of the battery felt loose. I was mad and thought about returning it but it still worked. Seems it was created to reduce the battery weight vibration to have lighter control. Thanks.

Wonder how the new m12 fuel compares to the old m18

I’ve gone thru 3 of the OG non-fuel m18 multitools over the course of 5 years. Not gonna lie take care of my tools but I beat the piss out of my multitool. The Fuel Multitool was a major upgrade compared to the brushed version. After burning out 3 of the non-fuels, I jumped at the Fuel when it came out. We’ll see how long it hold up but so far so good👍

I own the old one and never had a problem with it bothering my hands. And I beat the you know what out of my tools. If they don't perform they are not worth owning.

I really admire the review you've done for these.
I own the pre-fuel version and believe me, it still rocks. Though, now I know the differences between the two versions.

God bless, and thank you!

I'm planning on upgrading and giving the old one to my father In law. I got him into milwaukee tools👍

i've had TWO m18 multitools die on me in the exact same way where the head starts leaking grease from the motor and the whole head part comes loose. I thought it was a fluke the first time and bought another but after only three months it happened again.

I just bought the FUEL version and hope it lasts me. I love the versatility and functionality of these tools just too bad they die so quickly

Definitely like the depth stop. I wonder if the new m12 model has that?

Great review I'd really like a comparison between the M12 fuel and M18 fuel.

I own the Milwaukee M12 and the M18 platform and I really am a huge fan of the brand and I also would love to add the m18 multitool to it. But the one thing that prevents me of doing that is the blade change and specifically the blade position change. I own a corded Fein FMM 350 multimaster equipped with the starlock system. So many times I change the position of the blade (or the sanding pad) and it only takes 2 or 3 seconds. I owned 3 earlier models of Fein, one that used an allen key for a blade change and later an upgraded model with a lever, but since I am used to the (srewless) starlock system nothing will make me return to the previous versions. Sorry Milwaukee, I think I will wait for tne next generation Multitool equipped with starlock..

This thing is a great tool to have you don't realize how much you need one until you have one.

Mine stunk. At less than month old the first one quit. The Milhawakee rep at Home Depot exchanged it for a new one. Used this brand new exchange for about another month. It quit. It's currently being repaired under Milwaukee's e-repair program.

Great video, I like the comparison with the old version as I have that and will now most likely upgrade. I'd be interested however, in a comparison with the M12 fuel. Good stuff!
