Tampons can put you at risk for TSS and they can definitely help TSS by causing abrasions in the vaginal tissue allowing the bacteria to slip in there and cause a severe infection. Always be informed about what menstrual products you use and use lighter tampons and change them more frequently to lower your risk of TSS or use alternatives like pads or menstrual cups which give a MUCH less risk of contracting it. And also TSS can happen in anyone and certain medical devices can put you at risk as well. TSS is very serious and if you or anyone you know contracts it they should see a medical professional immediately.

Tampons can however be uncomfortable with a tilted uterus. 0/10 experience the kinda hurt when your uterus is tilted. I used a menstrual cup since my period was so heavy pads wouldn’t work well. Still was uncomfortable but didn’t hurt like tampons. If using tampons or menstrual cup is extremely uncomfortable or it hurts it’s a good idea to ask your gyno if your uterus is tilted.

Nothing happens just you wanna be careful, I sleep like 10hrs on weekends and when I use them it’s fine, I’ve never gotten anything like TSS and you just change them when you wake up ❤ I’ve even kept mine in for super long/longer then I should’ve by accident and I was fine!

Tampons can indeed cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. Usually if you leave it in too long, it can cause the bacteria to build up and cause the infection. That is because of the tampon, and you leaving it in too long (or something else that can cause it there’s a few ways.) but yes it is because of the tampon.
