US and China could ‘come together’ on climate after historic deal

Climate could be one area where the United States and China can “come together”, according to the US Studies Centre’s Simon Jackman.
Glasgow’s COP26 summit saw an historic agreement reached between the two competing superpowers, which came as a surprise to many – the deal pledging to work together on cutting greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade.
The duo together account for over 40 per cent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, and are the two biggest emitters on the planet.
“Perhaps good PR for both of them, the devil will be in the details of course, like so many of these announcements and pledges around climate change,” Mr Jackman told Sky News Australia.
