For anyone wanting a way better and faster method, just use an old toothbrush. Get the bristles in the speaker and gently rub it in circles, same can be done for the charging port.. works like a charm everytime

I don’t know if they have Blu Tack and it’s copy cats in the US, but a small piece of that worked until it is warm and very sticky does the same thing. I couldn’t hear my iPhone above a whisper, and the bottom speakers were not much better, along with the lightening plug not inserting fully. Two minutes pressing warm Blu Tack into the holes cleared out a paddock load of gunk, and the phone sounded fine and the plug fit properly.

I clean my phone the same way, I do it with something called Patafix by UHU. It's like a sticky Play-Doh but it is like non-Newtonian. I push slowly into all the holes so it can get to all the corners and take it off rapidly so it behaves like solid rubber but with all the dirt stuck to it. If I am not wrong I think Blu tack works the same way.

Use sticky tack! Or poster putty whatever it’s called. I’ve always used it and it works great!

Just use blu-tack. It is what we use in stores. Works great and you wont push crap into your grill and damage them.

Blue tac does the job for me every time. Just don t use it until it gets warm and soft otherwise some of it will get stuck inside ur speaker or mic.

It works. Just can't get all the dirt in 1 go. But if you repeat the process a few time, i hope it will clean all the dirt eventually.
