“It’s not true” is the only reason anyone needs.

Thank you for sharing, I converted to the church, but I left because they were kind of snobbish with me. When I had questions I was ignored, so I got tired of being some kind of outcast. In recent years I've been reading about the history of the church and Joseph Smith, and now I know that leaving was the right decision.

Everything rests on the character of Joseph Smith. And when you find out he was an insatiable horndog, master of fiction, manipulation and lies, the mormon house of cards comes tumbling down. Not just bad religion, but really bad religion.

Thank you for sharing. LDS Church isn’t the only religion misleading its followers. Heal well!

I’m not Mormon but I’m so happy to see people like you breaking free of this cult.

Thank you for making these videos and tik toks, they're really helping me remember stuff I had blocked out.(how I was treated, for questioning the harmful polices) It's good to feel validated. Just know you are helping people. I'm starting to come to terms and deal with my upbringing even though I have been out of the church for some time now.

I know so many people that, for them, the Book of Abraham was the straw that broke the camel's back, or, in the case of Mormonism, broke their shelf.

"Joseph Smith almost used these woman as objects for his own pleasure"
No, not "almost"... that's EXACTLY what he did.

Joseph and his buddies taking town folks wives and daughters is also why they (the LDS) got chased by angry mobs every where they went.

The first time i ever went back to church (only because i was pressured heavily by the leaders and young women’s) we talked about abstinence and gay marriage. I was extremely uncomfortable. One girl even talked about how a friend came out to her and she flat out said that she wasn’t going to be her friend anymore because of that, and she hated seeing her in church knowing who she loved. I wanted to say something so bad and i couldn’t help think. She felt comfortable enough to tell you, and you turn your back on her. It was really sad and i never went back after that.

The reason why I left the church for good can be summarized in 4 words: Sexism, Racism, Transphobia and Homophobia.

I left the mormon church also. I am Mexican and the crazy sex addiction from JS was the reason.

Unless a person was born into the LDS church, the better question would be:- why did one join in the first place?

Yes, and the wow says “hot drinks.” It never explicitly says tea or coffee; those were used as examples because those were common drinks to the early church era. Then they became the definition and the accepted law. When members asked about hot chocolate and hot soup, it was determined that those were ok. It was still debated in adult Sunday school classes for decades, but searching for the commonality, if the problem wasn’t actually temperature, this is how (at least what I was taught) this is how people came to believe that the caffeine was the problem. If not the hot component, then it must be the caffeine component. And this is how herbal tea came to be considered acceptable. Once the caffeine debate was settle by Pres Monson (I think), we members had to go back and re-ask ourselves what that WoW meant by hot drinks. A lot of people decided that cold coffee and cold teas must actually be fine if consumed cold, especially given the health benefits that science was pointing out.
The church leaders got wind of that and officially declared that the word of wisdom’s “hot drinks” meant coffee and tea... that even cold coffee and cold tea are against the word of wisdom. It makes no logical sense.
How I see it: It’s a tradition of man, not a health law of god.
