The fact that if I go to work and say that I’m Christian and conservative immediately means that I get called a Nazi, transphobe, or homophobic is wrong. I actually am quite the opposite but coworkers still call me these awful things.

As a black man, I’ve had to get into heated debates with my own family on why we are the only ones holding us back! No one owes me a thing besides a general level of respect from my peers. It’s up to me what kind of life I live, what kind of person I am, and what my beliefs are. I’m not letting the color of my skin or where I was born be my entire identity.
