Travel tips to do before you fly:
1. In your personal item bag pack one shirt, a pair of undies and socks in a compression cubes.
2. If the airline loses your carry-on luggage that had to be checked because of no overhead bin space, you have enough travel outfits for a couple of days.

Great tip. Can also switch 1/2 your clothing with someone else that’s traveling with you. So if only one gets lost, you still have 50% of your items.

I’ve discovered that when I do this, my luggage never gets lost! Kinda like carrying an umbrella and then it doesn’t rain! Such an important “insurance” policy. ❤

Ppl don’t think you’re gonna be separated overnight from your luggage but it happened when our plane couldn’t leave due to mechanical issues. Both times we were put up at a hotel without anything but our carryons. You’d think I’d know better! Now I pack extra sleep clothes and minimal skincare.

Always do this. And hubby and I 'cross pack 'our checked luggage...just in case, so we each have a couple full outfits in either suitcase.

One of the best and simplest hacks…. And NEVER pack your meds in your checked luggage! I used to work in a pharmacy and lost luggage is the number one reason travellers came in to the pharmacy for emergency supplies of their very important meds.

First time travelling overseas without family. Checked backpack got lost for 36 hrs. Had to borrow bff's undies. Lesson learned, always travel with undies, dress, long tee pj, basic toiletries in personal bag.

I do this every time I travel! And if I’m flying to a hot destination I add my bathing suit so if my luggage gets lost at least I can hit the beach!! 🏖️

I should have done that (and also packed a phone charger) when i flew from the uk to Thailand via Turkey with Turkish airlines. My suitcase stayed in Turkey and i arrived in Thailand with nothing. A kind lady in a shop charged my phone and i bought a towel, toiletries etc cheaply. My bag took 5 days to get back to me. Now i pack a few essential items in carry on luggage just in case

Also put your travel papers, jewelry, iPad, notebook, and small sizes cosmetics, medications and plane items in there. Money in an under-jacket pouch.

I’ve done this for years when traveling, if it’s a destination where you will be swimming I will also put a swimsuit in my personal item. I usually pack a couple of tops 2 pr undies, bra & light weight pants or shorts in personal item. Of course all my toiletries & supplements are in there too.
