The irony of Abby hating on the Last Dance because it’s was too “inappropriate” but let this dance and Electricity slide is so hypocritical. I will admit there were a few provocative moves but it wasn’t as bad as those two dances.

If the costumes were not emulating topless dance, and provided full body coverage, it would have been cute. The feathered fans themselves didn’t bother me and I think it was good training, but the suits should have been full one-piece suits and pink or silver sparkles. This presentation was indeed shocking to me and inappropriate.

I find it ironic that she had the girls do this, but then when they were older and did The Last Dance she had the nerve to be upset. She was talking about how these weren’t the girls she raised, but ma’am…you had them looking topless at eight years old. Producer driven or not, a teacher who cares about her children would never allow a number like this

It’s kind of weird how Abby thought this was OK but in Season seven she didn’t like the way the dance were performing when they were literally old enough to be performing. That just doesn’t make any sense to me.

If the costumes were different, as in not anything resemble nudity in any way, this dance could have actually been cute and fun. I don't think it's wrong for the girls to have learned about being a showgirl in Vegas, as it is a legitimate future dance career. I think, as with most adult topics, it's up to the parents to filter, monitor, and regulate what their children are learning, how they are learning about it, and how they use and distribute that knowledge to others, but Abby and production iced the mothers out of the conversation every time.

I remember gasping😱 when this aired the 1st time and being angry. I immediately looked up how to contact Lifetime and emailed them a scathing letter about how this was every pedos dream and how dare they do this to these girls.🤬 That they weren't doing their due diligence to protect them and just how absolutely disgusting they were as people. That they should be ashamed at this neglectful display of abhorrent ignorance. 😞 I just couldn't even stomach it. Then in season 2, at some point, I had to email them that it was very very clear that a cinematographer was making purposeful camera shots, when girls were in turns, doing extreme closeup crotch shots. 🤢🤦‍♀️ I will never forgive Lifetime for the situations they put these kids in.😢💔

It seemingly wasn’t pulled soon enough, as I first watched Dance Moms in 2020 on Hulu (USA) and saw this episode. Then on a rewatch in 2022, it was gone.
I don’t follow much DM content except you and MackZ so y’all are the only ones I’ve heard speak about it. Did you watch it in real-time and see the online backlash? I’m always curious to hear about the old Twitter feuds and craziness online over this insane, awful, yet addicting, show.
