Shoot on the Shadow Side. I’ve never ever thought about that. Justin, those 5 words are going to be on my mind for a while.

Insane. I’m a one man band. Shoot. Edit. Grade. Produce music. Write. Yada yada!! I used to shoot focus tests with a freaking teddy bear. I thought I was ridiculous. But. I see I’m not alone!! Keep Hollywood alive!!!

Hey Justin, one of your best videos yet. I can see your professional growth since you are talking from real honest knowledge. I have 20 years in this business and still learning. I really appreciate to see some young people sharing knowledge this days. It will always pay back to you Cheers from Chile!

Compositions should be motivated by story and emotion. Lighting needs to assist in that.

Some great tips here! As a photo guy, unless you have a certain style you want to stick to, it's best not to go too crazy with forcing depth. Taking that into the video world, going for tons of those kinds of shots just feels a bit wankery, like the director/camera guy is trying to show off. Sometimes when I'm watching shows it pulls me out of the scene if it's too obvious.

A big well done! One of the best videos you’ve made. ‘Shoot from the shadow side’ a simple statement but worth its weight in gold.
