Let the blade do the cutting mate, lol. You remind me of my partner. I can always tell when he’s on the saw

That comment says it all “I’m treating it like a corded table saw “
You know your going to force it to break before you even use it . Cordless when used properly is amazing on sites with no power . Would be great if they give you the option to plug it in .

As a paramedic, we actually use those exact batteries in all of our stretchers to power the hydraulics that lift and lower patients that are up to 700 lbs!

Had a guy who did the day shift on the automated horizontal band saws working at Multiquip. Had the same mindset. Set the feed rates as high as he could go. Broken teeth, parts being dragged and cupped. He didn't care. But I'd change out the blades with new ones to do my shift and catch crap for "going thru too many blades "
Got tired of taken heat for his bs. Would save the mangled blades and put them back on for him to use the next day, and save mine in my tool box. The company had a stupid incentive idea. Anything done over 100% efficient would be a bonus at the end of the quarter. This lead to cherry picking orders and others games. Finally came to a stop after 2 things happened. One being caught by OSHA for disabling safety guards on the riveting machines (temp laborer riveted his finger-$84, 000 fine) the other was after the day guy cut up an entire supply of 6061 aluminum round stock. Was supposed to be 1 ⅞" round by 20' long. He took it straight off the delivery truck and cut the whole thing into 1¼" pucks. Problem was two-fold, first it was supposed to be 1⅞ round, it wasn't, it was 1¾ round. The second problem was even if it the right size. Him running the machines hard and fast caused cupping. This was backed up by the CNC dept. At my yearly evaluation that was the week after that incident. The plant manager asked why I wasn't like the day guy. Who had a efficiency rating of 129% and a scrap ratio of 34% for that week. Mine was 97% with a scrap of 1.4%.

I told the boss "so, you'd rather have me make bad parts fast, then make good parts at a slower and deliberate rate".

Point is: trying to exceed the machines capabilities is receding the machines longevity. Let the machine do its job.

I have a 4hp slider, if I feed wood in like the way he is it kills the motor. Take your time and use a wedge to stop the wood closing on the blade. If you need to rip a batch of 4x2 go to a big table saw. Battery tools are as much about convenience as power.

Yeah feeding it through at Mach speed 🤣

Yeah. That was pretty fast feeding for a thick stock even if it was plugged in it would likely cut off.

Just going by what you said, you bogged the saw down intentionally knowing that it was not a corded saw!

I've had that same saw for years and it works amazingly. I run it on a 9amp battery and use it daily with no problems. Mostly cutting 1x material but have ran a lot of 2x material through it with absolutely no problem whatsoever. Cuts beautifully

Yeah, That was a super quick feed for a cordless saw. Those are made more for small Hobby crafts etc....in my opinion they're just not enough saw if you're going to bebrunning a lot of material or if you're on a job especially. Nice for the basement as a backup I guess lol
