They've hidden DeferFeatureUpdates and DeferQualityUpdates under now as well as BranchReadinessLevel although it's set differently

2:25 Sorry but I didn't get this: if preview features and features updates are the ones that install/update the bloatware, why didn't you disable them altogether instead of just delaying them if you are running a minimal install?

Thank you so much for this. Recent windows updates would make the desktop icons unresponsive, and all i could do was system restore, and disable updates in services, but following the instructions in this video sorted out the problem perfectly 👍

One might argue the feature updates are actually a security risk as well, potentially and depending if one is found with the feature.

Just a thought. Can one disable the feature update components all together through this group policy method, rather then configure it to wait for as long as possible before installing them?

Thanks Chris. I run two separate boxes, one is Win 10 Pro which I just fixed according to this video (thanx again for the clarity of description) and the other box is MINT which has an entirely different and better update method baked right in.

Thanks Chris, you explain these things so well. Microsoft has gone out of their way to make Windows Update more complicated then it needs to be and I'm so glad I only ever have to look at Windows at work after I fully switched back to Linux last year.

What's the difference now between this semi annual thing and the 365 days? Are these two different kind of updates or will windows wait for half a year and then another full year to actually update features?

So in the end bloat features will be updated/installed either way, just with a delay?

hey cris got arch linux running as main os and using dual boot win10 for games that dont run on linux yet. my win10 can't even update itself. it downloads the patch and im getting this error on install: "2020-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4551762) - Error 0x800f081f" any idea how to fix this? tanks in advance
