I cried when Senna died. I'm Brazilian so I used to hate on Schummi. But overtime, I respected him. Much more after watching his documentary - I finally understood how Schummi and Senna had very similar personalities. When Schummi started, Senna had a go at him but in 94 season they actually had respect for each other. Schumacher was mortally wounded when Senna died - that wasn't apparent all those years but if you watch his documentary you'll know. Senna had passed the baton to him. Two legends. Two GOATS.

For me Ayrton is the best. He wasn't just a good driver, he openly proved that he had a kind heart, he helped Erik Comas and saved his life, he visited Ruben's Barachello in hospital after his accident at Imola in 1994 and he was genuinely bothered about the level of poverty in Brazil and thanks to his sister Viviane, his goal to help kids get a second chance in life became reality and the other thing I respect him for is he was prepared to face the reality of the dangers that he was subjecting himself to in formula one by visiting the crash scenes of fellow drivers.
Ayrton would have kept going for as long as possible in formula one but Michael Schumacher would have made things difficult for him if he had been given the chance, especially because the William's Renault he was driving was in serious need of major improvements before it became a death trap and took his life. Rip Ayrton, you will always be the greatest to me ❤❤❤❤

Senna was awesome. But Schumacher ushered in a new reference for drivers. Fitness, dedication, attention to detail. The guy was on another level.

Ayrton was more than a driver. He was poetry in motion. The greatness without question. "Who is better Ayrton or Michael"...Michael must be very proud for this question. We miss them both.

You compared the numbers in this video. It shows Schumacher didn't have to get pole as much to win more races. He had more fastest laps, had a better win ratio and also moved to Ferrari to help create a competitive car. As soon as Senna moved to McLaren, ALL he wanted to do was drive the best car, NEVER considered a move like Schumacher to a struggling team. Watch the races they had together & you could see Schumacher was showing Senna he had surpassed him. It put Senna under pressure & he was losing out on the track.

I saw more of Schumacher than Senna. We never got to see them go all out in 94, but for me, with all the questions over the Benetton, the poor performance of the Williams, and the way Senna was able to outqualify Schumacher convinced me Senna is better. A bit..

Difficult to say who’s better. I tend to say Michael because of what he did at Ferrari and his impact on the sport. But Senna had that mystique and just pure magic that no one else in F1 has ever had.

Senna pushed an F1 car to past the limits like I've never seen another F1 driver to date. Schumacher lived to race many more races than his rival. Schumacher is truly the most decorated driver to ever hit F1, but I believe if Senna hadn't died tragically that day, we'd all witness a different outcome in his career. Probably many more championships for sure.

Michael chose the harder way. He left the world champion Benetton team in order to try to revive the struggling Scuderia. Initially, they didn't expect him to succeed at the reds, as so many great drivers have failed to lead Ferrari to world championship title. Yet, Schumi exceeded all expectations, becoming the most successful Ferrari driver ever. And we all know, how difficult the life of the Ferrari drivers is. World champions like Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel could tell a lot about that. MS (first) retired in 2006, when he had great chances to win further championships with Ferrari. His absence is still a huge loss for the Italian stable. It's just enough to take a look how the pilots - in red - (under)performed since 2006.

Ayrton was a fantastic driver, with outstanding skills and charisma. But he always opted to switch to better teams. From Toleman to Lotus, then to McLaren and later to Williams. Every F1 driver wants to win, so it's not surprising. But I think that, in this regard, Michael is the one, who deserves all the credit, looking for new challenges which were (to say at least) doubtful to accomplish.

Senna drove the fastest car on the grid for 50% of his career and the 2nd fastest car for 25% of his career. Schumacher on the other hand for most of his career drove the 2nd 3rd 4th best car on the grid and he even won the championship multiple times driving the 2nd or 3rd best car. Senna on the other hand won the championship only when he drove the best car available.

Michael never put himself above Senna. He already said that if Senna was still alive, everybody will be battling for 2nd place instead of first

I like how you give no reasoning for why you believe Senna is the superior talent. As for the number of pole positions, Schumacher could have had a lot more if he didn't run the heaviest car in qualy so many times, staying out on track longer than all his competitors. Also for 3 years of his Ferrari dominance the Mclaren was quicker over a single lap and suffered during the race.

I disagree, and the reason being, Schumacher was the only driver to lead a team out of a 20 year dry spell, Ferrari was nowhere, of course he'd be awarded the number one driver seat, and if that wasn't enough he was unrivalled in the wet. Two points no one can argue.

My personal favourite is Senna but it’s hard to say who would have been better if he wasn’t killed. It would have been the greatest battles of F1

Those who comment here should be careful, Admin will delete your comments that he does not like. Thank you for your documentary on the suspicious/intentional death of Senna, the most honest driver in F1. It's really frustrating when Damon Hill says "I don't remember, I don't know" to every question asked by the prosecutor, "we never talked about the car" despite being with Senna many times, and the williams team members use unclear statements in court. It is certain that Williams and their defenders are hiding something from the public... Senna already shows from his facial expressions that he was uncomfortable with many things when he was in the williams team. Senna also said that the vehicles would be very dangerous if the traction control system was banned. With Ratzenberger's death in qualifying, the race could have been cancelled. The 89 season title was unfairly taken away. Senna has repeatedly criticized F1's bosses for being political... It was also revealed that although the traction control system was banned in the 94 and 95 seasons, some deceitful drivers used it. Those who killed Senna were the ones who put the "worn and thinned steering column" there. Senna is a huge loss to the motorsport community. If he had lived, we could watch less political races today... I can't imagine a motorsport organization headed by Senna, it would be great. Senna forever...
