Two things: 1. Yamaha nailed it with this thing. 2. This guy is great - great demo, great player and good vibes all around - talked with him at KnobCon.

I've struggled to hear solid reasons as to why this beats competition. Maybe it indicates that we're at a plateau with DP tech which indicates that maximum sound quality has been reached for now? I'm thinking that build and function is most important to me as I've had hardware issues with Kawai and Roland DPs and stage pianos. Plus, I never fancied the modelled sounds of Roland. Until they start cramming in the large VST files into these slabs, this is about as good as it gets. Yamaha do it best! Perhaps Nord as a serious contender.

“ Yo “ just tell us more “ tells about “ the octave”s “ tell us how great it is “ newest features “ tell about new switch how great the very newest sounds “ in fact don’t even turn it on “

The mini-toggle switches are a peculiar choice, but this looks like a thoughtfully designed and very practical instrument.

Regarding with the CP88, is the keybed action good for playing synth riffs compared to the 73?

The 88 version should have had string resonance as their p range and clavinova. For god sake it is meant for piano players. P range for half the price. Weird.

Lots of talk, little show.... I wish he had given an audible demonstrations of what he was talking about. Field experts might have caught on instantly to what he said, but as the ignoramus that I am, I feel lost here. Sure, any criticism for running my mouth while knowing little is well deserved, I get that. But if this is such a great product and not just snake exploiting past success, I would like to know why. Having a (probably great) guy vaguely/cryptically talking just does not cut it for me.
