Be still my heart NATAS!! I was born raised and still live in Newark NJ with a very large Portuguese population, grew up eating natas they are not made like I grew up having them, when I went to Lisbon in 2017 I almost cried because the Natas tasted just like I remembered them as a child!

0:25 - Rossio, not Rosário. 😉
5:16 - Mouraria, not Mouradinha. 😉
5:34 - The earthquake was in the 18th century (1755), not the 17th century. 😉
15:25 - Not exactly. The pastry that was created by the monks of the Jerónimos monastery was the Pastel de Belém. The Pastel de Nata was created somewhere else by someone else but nobody knows exactly who and when, all we know is that they were trying to replicate the Pastel de Belém but since the recipe is secret all they could do was a pastry that the only similarity it has to the Pastel de Belém is the way it looks. 🙂

Vinho Verde is named this way because the grapes are harvested before they are fully ripe, that is, still green.
