When it comes to pelvic health.....
tighter does not always mean better. For pelvic floor muscles to function optimally there must be a healthy length- tension relationship.
YES ...... Our pelvic floor muscles need to be able to contract, recoil and engage in order o maintain continence and support our pelvic organs.
However, these muscles also need to be able to relax, lengthen, and broaden in order to have healthy bowel, bladder and sexual function. The urethra, vagina and rectum all pass through the pelvic floor muscles. The pelvic floor muscles have to relax in order to have good bowel, bladder and sexual function.
Weak pelvic floor can lead to incontinence, pressure in the perineum, fecal incontinence, inability to hold back gas, sexual dysfunction, hip pain, groin pain and/or back pain and needs to be strengthened.

Tight ( or overactive/ hypertonic) pelvic floor muscles can lead to constipation, incomplete evacuation, leaking, pain with intercourse and/or hip, groin and back pain.
Tight muscles lose range of motion, they become chronically shortened and lose the ability to contract over the full length of the muscle. They need to be lengthened!
A hypertonic muscle = a weak muscle.
For people with an overactive pelvic floor performing kegels is NOT a good idea. These muscles need to be lengthened before they are strengthened in order to support pelvic function efficiently

Reason 5: The coccyx is dislocated or broken creating tension on the pelvic floor. Pretty common but often overlooked by most doctors until you get someone to rule it out with a x-ray of the sacrum/ coccyx.

Omg you are angel for me mam i utilize my a lot money to find what is happening to me but now i know its due to stress i feel my pelvic floor muscles tight i am in stress since one year Thankyou mam for this video

Muscle inbalance i believe every time i have tightnes in any part of my body i tend to urinate all the time but after i massage that part and burps..frequent urination stop....i have high arch foot...and after i go fir long walk i tend to have painful back or tightness on my legs tigh and calves what i do is massage it till its not tight anymore then i stop urinating frequently...

Is it possible that you get a tight pelvic floor because you hold you bladder to often? I ask this is because when I was in public school my teachers rarely let me use the bathroom. And that is when my symptoms started showing.

Is it possible to have 5 months of constant constipation because of tight pelvic floor(it is afther pregnancy) .. I am feeling that i am subconsciously squeezeing it... I also lost the urge for toilet
