Few historical events are as greatly revered and entirely misunderstood as the French Revolution that began in 1789. The memory of this complicated and lengthy political, violent uprising has been generally painted in broad—and oversimplified—strokes.

While the French Revolution was certainly centered around two lavish monarchs and an enlightened common class, there was so much more going on behind the scenes. Why did the French Revolution Start?

Causes of the French Revolution
1. The extravagance of the royal family which lead to the neglect of the people
2. Poverty and starvation
3. Extreme shortage of bread and grain shortage
4. France became massively indebted due to their military support for the American Revolution
5. The King failed to control the power of the national guard
6. The king failed to organize the parliament
7. The king failed to collect taxes from the wealthy class
7. The king’s refusal to abdicate his throne

good explanation! I also have to add that i don't think it was just the king's lack of awareness about the state of the country so much as it was about his lack of action to do something about it.

Among the Pinnochio bankers who are said to have helped finance
the French Revolution are Daniel Itzig (1722-1799), David Friedlander
(1750-1834), Herz Cerfbeer (1730-1793), Benjamin Goldsmid (1755-
1808), Abraham Goldsmid (1756-1810), and Moses Mocatta (1768-
1857), partner of the Goldsmid brothers, and uncle of Sir Moses
Montefiore (Olivia Marie O'Grady, "The Beasts of the Apocalypse",
First Amendment Press, 2001, p. 123). All were connected to the
Illuminati.

Now why does this remind me of America today?

They had war debts but so did everyone else at the time. The French like to blame America for some of that debt. What the people of France were over was the incredible spending by the high nobility at the time when the French people were starving.

1) Peasants seemed to be supportive of the monarchy. The educated bourgeoisie fueled the French Revolution.
2) The French upper class sounds exactly like the Democratic Party in the US today. Clueless, completely detached from real life struggles, and hopelessly chasing after the trendiest causes.

The fact that you used the word equitable tells me that this video is disingenuous and is propaganda. Equality is what we want, not equity.
