As a cynic, I recognize all the negativity as part of life's nature. i recognize how bad things actually are, because it is simply the way that it is. Its just me making things more simpler, more virtious in that manner; and as a cynic we should still be happy for the things in life, despite us knowing that it is bad in the first place. I dont think cynicism has protected me at all from all these things, but it is through the simplicity in life that get me through with it.

I feel like my mental age is aging faster than everyone.
Even if I don't want to believe in cynicism, I keep running into situations that prove it right and it just hurts.

I disagree. Cynicism is not a type of reaction. It is a type of wisdom.Cynicism doesn't prevent me from taking opportunities. It prevents me from depending on the outcome. I take an opportunity and I don't worry if it leads to the desired outcome or not. There's no false hope, and so when new things fail, I don't feel hurt because I didn't expect them to work out in a particular way or by any means.

Cynics see through the program not seeing an heirchy whose value is determined through performing a task only for validation not because the task improves society.

Love it, I always worry about becoming one of old man that say “In my time, we never did that or we didnt do it like that”, Even when I get old, I want to appreciate the changes!

So people should adopt cynicism to protect themselves from pain. That sounds as weakness and cowardice to me. It sounds as an immature response to reality. Pain and suffering are a part of life, and the only true shield is acceptance of this fact and doing our best to minimize them.
Willful blindness will not lead to psychological well being. It's only denying the existence of monsters, and these monsters grow when they are not confronted.

I commend you for your honesty. In summary you have confirmed that cynicism is born primarily from fear and pride, fear or the hardship of the world or having your ego dented and pride in how you choose to process those instances so that you don’t have to face and address those fears in a way that can defeat them - and the result of this is a fearful proud person incapable of objectivity and leadership and even positivity in all aspects of life therefore making it a drag. Cure is to understand life is not easy, evaluate yourself rather than judge yourself so you can remedy and make adjustments according to your wants, appreciate difference, understand reality and meet the hardships and disappoints in life with hard work and self respect - you will become a master in this world and positivity and contentment will follow

I relate to this. I was so enthusiastic when I moved to New York in search for a career in Children's Media, and I kept hitting wall after wall and it got exhausting. I agree, I see the cynicism that built up as a defense. Here's a question for you: How can you determine what cynicism is correct, and what is false? What is borne from defeatism, and what is merely learning how the world works?

Why does everyone act like cynicism is just some disease or some mental disorder when it’s obviously the most accurate way to view the world? I think there is an inbuilt need for humans to feel needed and that what they are doing is meaningful, and THIS creates a bias towards nice thoughts and dopamine seeking behaviors. It’s only the person who can reject the good feelings, or at least see past them, that has a chance of seeing the world clearly.

You failed to consider the old Cynicism which is the true cynicism. The attitude you are speaking about was used by a Satirist named Lucien to insult the hypocritical cynics. That word is used apocryphally now.
