Once you have clearance the chance that your vasectomy could fail is 1:2000. That’s 10 times better than a female sterilisation or the best hormonal methods. Nothing is perfect in contraception, but vasectomy is pretty close.

Most men get away fine with it.., but I have been in pain for 1.5 years as a result of this procedure, a nightmare... and a horrible thing to do to a men... If you want a good sex life then a vasectomy is definitely not the answer... The first months I suffered like a beast... Throbbing pain and shooting pains in the testicles. And lots of groin pain while working... The cause, maybe nerve damage to the cord combined with congestion/pressure of the sperm due to the blockage? Your balls don't stop making sperm, your body has to figure out how to break it down and if it can't keep up with the supply you're in trouble.. Fortunately over the course of 18 months it became more bearable bit by bit. But now I still get an uncomfortable feeling after ejaculation. I have a harder time getting an erection and my testosterone level has dropped. It is the stupidest thing I have ever done. I feel depressed all the time..And women consider this the greatest gift you can give to her...if you do this they see you as some kind of hero... I have learned to hate my wife because she wanted this...
