First of all, this channel always continues to propose to us a distorted idea of "gender equality" and displays, as in this case, behaviors that a person with an ounce of politeness and respect would never do.
I find it hard to believe that the vast majority of women in the world (especially Western) would ever allow themselves to insistently suggest to their partner that they would like him to buy something for them ( personally, as a Southern European woman I would never do that!).
In that case, it is logical to respond, " you work, you can buy it for yourself, " since it is a legitimate response to an act of RUDENESS, but IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GENDER EQUALITY!!!
Here you are confusing rudeness (because you don't act like an opportunist with family and friends, why should you do so with your partner?) with the demand for a minimum of gentleness and kindness in a relationship. Offering something to someone is not against gender equality if it is done with selflessness. That doesn't seem hard to understand. Being romantic (whether by men or women) IS NOT FEMINIST HYPOCRISY! The important thing is that demonstrations of affection are reciprocated on both sides. So even the Swedish man can afford to give a gift to the woman he likes ( and vice versa). If you hang out with polite people, you don't have to worry about your wallet, because gestures are ALWAYS reciprocated by those who really care about you!

Well if you want to treat yourself I won't stand in the way of it but I think it's a little pricey honestly. If you get that for yourself I'm going to buy myself a nice new car, a safe reliable one like a Volvo though. My mother says you've put weight on so make sure the watch is water proof because she said we should start ice swimming and doing sauna again.
