If they can not VERBALLY I'd themselves as police I am under ZERO obligation to treat them as authority. They broke the non existent social contract first. We are under zero obligations after that.

They don't have to *verbally* identify themselves to you, but they *legally* have to sign their legal name on the notice of inquiry when you issue one! That one piece of paper can make a huge difference!

Pulling someone over should legally need to make the police go "hello i am officer X, Badge Y, let me see your License and registration. Introducing oneself will Ease the Tension as well as make the situation more "Chill"

In Germany it is exactly the other way. As a citizen you must not identefy but the Police is finding that out anyway so its not worth it. Police officers must identefy them self when asked.
