I work in an IT department with 1, 000 pc users and about 500 Mac users in our organization. When you open up a computer to work on it you see that Macs and PCs have the same brand processor, the same brand hard drives, the same brand of RAM. If you spend the same amount of money on your pc it will last just as long as a Mac, and it can even have a pretty metal shell, if looks are more important than function to you. Mac vs PC is really just a matter of personal preference in operating system, everything else is just BS that Apple (and their customers) has been shoving down our throats for years.

1) You have free office for Windows, it's called Libre Office.
2) There is many free video editing software out there, even Kdenlive is for Windows (originally for Linux)
2) Price of MacOS is included in the device itself
3) Macs broke as often as windows mashines
4) About consistency, you are right, Windows is inconsistent, it's because of legacy software support.
5) MacOS has terminal, you just don't use it. Like most people on Windows.
6) Pre-installed apps may be good for you, but not all of them and not for all people. For many people it's just a bloatware. (and again - Libre Office)
7) It's limitating and inflexible to have one big central store for all apps. And it creates a monopoly of software on specific platform.
8) There is a lot of build-in ways to make Windows accesible, like on screen keyboard.
9) Ergonomics of Apple mouse is awful, kayboard may be better, but the mouse ergonomics is awful.
10) The Apple ecosystem is pleasing to some poeple, but it's main purpose is to lock the cosumer to one platform.
11) Windows updates are terrible, but MacOS isn't for pro. If you mean pro, as programmer, or network administrator, your choice is Linux, for Designers it's Windows with it's huge software support and touchscreens, for video editors, Windows because they need custom build powerful PCs. In general MacOS is for those who think it make them stylish.
12) If you care about open source, why concider anything else than Linux? :D

There are many wrong points in this videos:
- Of course if one operating system can't perform a specific task it is worse. Imagine my specific task is "surfing the web and writing essays for Uni". If an operating system can't do that, it means it is worse.
- Most windows machines come with windows installed (so you don't need the extra $100), on windows you don't need an antimalware if you are "smart" enough not to download and click anything you find (yeah, maybe Mac users are dumb enough to believe that they are the 1, 000, 000 visitor, but I am not), and if you need antimalware you can easily get it for free. And no, you don't "have to" buy Microsoft Office, there are many free alternatives (and you can even use Microsoft Office for FREE ONLINE)
- Yes we can have a free software to edit a video *facepalm*
- You are comparing the durability of a $500 laptp vs a $1500 dollar laptop. Do I really need to say how wrong your point is? And even so, you could buy $500 laptop 3 times in a row and it would be more durable than one single $1500 macbook. And, if you wanted to make a fair comparison, you would chose a $1500 windows laptop, which has better specs, better durability, better quality than a $1500 macbook (see, for example, Huawei Matebook X Pro)
- Yes Windows 10 provides many ways of achieving the same result. I don't see how that is a negative thing.
- Again, there is free software, or even online.

I started using windows. After school recomment me a mac I work with it. Its a more personal system than windows. I not like apple's software so I went back to windows. But I still prefer the minimalic user experience of the mac.

Went Mac myself and never looked back. Went with an iMac 27 first and now added a MacBook Pro 13. Now my Dell Laptop collects dust after being an avid PC user. Mac is easy to use especially if you are on the Apple Eco system and have a iPhone already. Macs are easy to backup using Time Machine or using Super Duper when your Time Machine doesn’t work. It didn’t take me long to learn to use my Mac and there a lot of YouTube’s to learn how to familiarize yourself with Macs. Let’s not forget resale values, Mac’s have an awesome resale value, my Dell laptop on the other hand is worthless now so it’s not even worth selling it on eBay.

My love for mac actually began when I realized I much preferred playing video games on my console and my Windows PC began collecting dust. My job for 20 years had been (in addition to mainframe computer programming in PL/1) supporting DOS and then Windows desktops, so I never seriously considered Macs. Over the years, I noticed Windows was not getting better, but worse and worse with each new iteration of the OS!

When I decided my desktop days were done and started shopping for a laptop, I initially bought a cheap Chromebook just to see if I liked using that form factor rather than a desktop at a desk. It turned out my aging bones and muscles appreciated the migration, but I found my $200 Chromebook to be sub-par.

With much trepidation, I went ahead and bought my first Apple PC since 1985 (I had a //c then before I'd even heard of DOS) - a new MacBook Pro in 2015. Within days, I had gotten over the frustration that comes with learning a new OS and never looked back.

I now own an iPhone, MacBook Pro and an iPad. Take it from someone who has spent his whole life around tech: iMADiT is 100% correct that Macs are FAR superior to Windows PC's. And yes, I still "support" a brand new Windows PC that's in the family, so I've kept up with that OS up to the present.

I have a windows 10 laptop that's better than most macbooks and it only cost me $700 for a gtx 1050ti, 7700hq, 8gb or ram and 256gb ssd and option for m.2. Beat that on a macbook.

8 1/2 Year Old iMac: Sells on Amazon for $500.

7 Year Old PC: Impossible to even find on Amazon.

Macs keep their value, PC go from $500 to $100 in a year. You lose lots of money if you sell your old PC.

Mac: Programming, Development, Normal working, Small Companies
Linux: Nerds, Servers, Developing, Programming
