I'm doing a starter replacement on my 2010 charger 3.5l v6. After watching other people's videos and then trying it. I found this way to be by far the easiest way to get it done. If this help you please let me know in the comments.

Yeah, anytime I see "remove this exhaust part", I know I'm in for a very bad time. Kudos to you for getting that apart w/o shearing the bolts. I'd rather take half the front suspension apart than touch rusted, heat seized exhaust bolts.

Hi Hunter this IS quite easy. Just did it in 1 hour and 45 minutes. the wires on the starter was the most difficult part in my opinion. Thanks for the info about rotating the solenoid to remove the starter.

Hes right its easy to do it this way. The only thing is suggest is removing the muffler hangers for more flexibility. Youll need 17, 15, 16 and 13mm sockets. 15 mm wrench as well.

So far this is the best one yet for replacing a starter

Great video. Always good to have options for vehicles in different conditions. Noce o2 sensors lol

If you're exhaust bolts are all rusted out, please don't attempt this. Just take the steering column out. Which imo is way easier anyway. Those bolts WILL break, and then you'll have a nightmare on your hands. 😅

Been working on a 2008 charger with my boyfriend for the last few days, we have been tussling with the starter to come out after breaking the rusty bolts lose on the main pipe and still couldn’t figure out what was going on. I told him to detach the cables from the starter and he wouldn’t listen, thanks for this video because sure enough - it was tension from starter cables 😅

Great video but that exhaust can and will be a headache for most, from all the rust

I came across this video way after I already done dropped my rack an pinion I only stumbled across this because I was Looking for on how someone had found a way to pull the starter out from that tight space because inwas having that problem when I pulled the steering rod out of the way and plus I don't think I could be able to remove my exhaust like that it's so rusty I know I'm bound to bust some bolts on that so I plan not to do that otherwise this is pretty good video by the way I'll remember that next time if theres a next time

Appreciate that I just had this issue on a charger tonight all my usual starters drop with no problem

This is NOT the easiest way in the rust belt. Remove the 2 supporting bolts for the steering rack and lower it. This is the easiest way.

I just did this job if you have headers you won't have to take exhaust off. You just have to move shift cable and a/c line and slide starter right out. But that's only if you have headers.

I can't tell if you're filming it at weird angles. Or if something is different because the top of my exhaust looks nothing like what you're showing

Rack and pinion lowered is alot easier than dealing with a rusty exhaust or steering shaft.
