Perhaps transfer the heat from the data center to help prepare the aluminum ingots for the castings machines.

3:13 it’s not delayed because the timeline is not known. It’s exactly as Brian said. They have to discover if the new model has any new problems. Or they may find problems that were solved in previous releases but now are not (i.e. regressions). This takes time because the better the model gets, the harder it is to find the problems.

Only the interior portion of the South extension will be used as a data center. The outer areas with the windows will have a different function. You can see the different areas by the different color of the roof. The gray roof section will be the data center.

I thought 12.5 was going to be by end of June.

Where has the idea come from that the new cooling plant at Giga Austin is anything exceptional? It’s the first time I’ve heard that.

What about a swamp cooler that uses water then water is captured to be reused in a closed system.

I'm not sure how important it is to know how version 12.4.1 differs from 12.4.2 but it seems obvious to me they have access to more than enough compute to run a line by line comparison or a shadow mode comparison and quickly identify every difference. I bet that would be useful in some testing of specific issues, but there will be wholistic testing also that runs the entire system.

What about using tubes that goes deep into the earth that temperature is already cooler.

Tesla is using the heat from the computers to be the heat source in adsorbtion chillers which will cool the factory portion of the building. These chillers use a heat source to provide a coolimg effect. Its kinda counterintuitive for those who never looked up adsorbtion refrigeration. Its kinda like the old rv refrigerators work by using a small propane flame(heat source) which is required to produce cooling.

I love you guys and I'm not saying that Tesla couldn't have had something to do with the design or engineering of this particular system but ICT is International Cooling Tower Inc located in Texas, they are a huge company that this is all they do is Design build install and maintain cooling towers so I as I said I don't believe that it would be impossible for a Tesla to have had some input knowing how they think and how they work but this is commonplace cooling tower from the looks of it.
Huge tsla shareholder so I completly hope im wrong and your right but I spent thecfirst 20 years of my working life building factories all over the USA specifically in the process piping construction business

Did I miss something? Why is no one discussing the Body In White Server Room that is just having a massive cooling system completed on the roof? Looks like it had nearly as big an area as that cooling tower everyone is going gaga over.

Wonder if there is a way to test new versions against the previous version (previous version is the expert driver) to avoid regressions -- maybe in simulations or whatever. Getting past the point that human drivers can evaluate new versions robustly and quickly.

A little along the lines of what was known as “the ‘dead man’ alerter’ for train drivers….now approximately 45 seconds……highway traffic and city driving do not not get their steering by following the track. Condolences to the family!

It is interesting that a teenager learns to drive in a few hundred miles and gets a license. FSD hardware needs a billion or so. I wonder if the next revs of the inference computer in the car will noticeably reduce the amount of training required?
