Lyrics

I love coffee, I love tea
I love the Java Jive and it loves me
Coffee and tea and the jivin’ and me
A cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup
I love java sweet and hot, whoops
Mister Moto, I’m a coffee pot
Shoot me the pot, and I’ll pour me a shot
A cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup
So, slip me a slug from the wonderful mug
And I’ll cut, cut a rug till I’m snug in the jug
A slice of onion on a raw one
Draw one, waiter, waiter, percolator
I love coffee, I love tea
I love the Java Jive and it loves me
Coffee and tea and the jivin’ and me
A cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup

Interlude
Boston bean, joy bean
Lima bean, string bean
I’m not keen for a bean
Unless it is a cheery coffee bean

Java Jive, Java Jive, Java Jive
A cup, a cup, a cup, a cup

The reference to Mr. Moto is to both Peter Lorre’s portrayal as Mr. Moto and to Peter’s character in the play “Arsenic and Old Lace”, where the antagonist demonstrates he’s cuckoo by saying he’s a coffee pot! The reference in the end, “ cherry berry bean” is a pun on Ciribiribin, a hit song at that time!
