How to Teach Your Children Ear Training

This episode discusses EAR TRAINING practice techniques for young children. This episode focuses on pitch matching and features a live demonstration with my children. This technique works for both children and adults but is a great place to begin teaching kids how to vocalize what they hear. This can be used with very young children even before teaching solfege.

Your children are wonderful :) So helpful, thank you! I have been practicing ear training with my piano students. One of my students, in particular, has been practicing for about a year now, and in the past 5 months, she's been excited to tell me that she's able to listen to her favourite movies and find some of some tunes on the piano in the higher pitches for 2-4 bars. I will definitely incorporate more of your techniques.

I really enjoy your channel - but have been practicing perfect pitch for a while now and was discouraged after I came across your video where you say it's impossible for adults. I'm 18, and discovered about four years ago that I have perfect pitch. since I didn't start at a younger age does that mean that I might not be able to name notes and complex chords?
