Olivia, I just arrived in Hong Kong to study for a year! Besides International Business, I will also be studying Cantonese at University! Ive been trying to learn Cantonese on my own in the US but it has been difficult, even though i took 2 years of Mandarin.
Now that I am in Hong Kong, I realizing the things I need to know in everyday interactions and i can watch the appropriate videos (my Cantonese class doesn't start for another week!)
I just wanted to thank you for these fantastic videos! They are short, to the point, and give you the Romanized and Pinyin version as well as the oral pronunciation and you break down each phrase.
Everytime I come back to my hotel, I look up a new video to look up more phrases that would be useful!
Thank you so much for your videos!
Please keep them going!

Thanks for this. I have Cantonese friends and I'm English and I feel very uncultured not being bilingual like them. So learning some Cantonese expressions really helps me feel more at ease with them.

cantonese is an ancient language. most of the poems written in the Tang and Song dynasty, classical poetry included,  can only rhyme nicely in cantonese rather than in putonghua.  if you study Japanese and Korean you should know there are words pronounced similar to Cantonese, like hubby in korean for example

I know I'm late but I just wanna tell you to keep up the good work and thank you for teaching Cantonese. I want to learn both Mandarin and Cantonese because it's soo fun and I like Asian languages soo much lol. Plus there are soo many Chinese people in my country and whenever I tell them thank you or hello in Chinese (Mandarin), I swear their adorable faces light up and they'd be like, "Oh! You can speak Chinese?" lol They're soo nice. Once again, Do2 zeh☺💜
