I think it was in 1972, that I was driving from San Diego on my way to Montana. A friend had given me the tape (cassette) to listen to on the way. As I was heading north, nearing sunset, across the desert - with the colors you get and the phantom shapes that are part of the desert - this song came on. It was amazing!

a lot of people praise gilmour for this and i agree with them but you dont hear a lot of people praising rick wright's hammond organ masterful playing in this song, the way it combines with gilmour's sound is just jaw dropping amazing!

Son increíblemente buenos, es increíble lo adelantados que estaban y están a nuestra época, y entre más creces y maduras más entiendes su música y más ves lo buenos que eran, tienen todo creatividad, imaginación, instrumental, lírica, voces, son unos genios y sus letras sé que estarán en algún momento en la felicidad y tristeza de muchos, porque sus canciones fueron hechas para eso para entender la vida, los momentos, todo, con el pasar de los años espero que la gente entienda que quizás son o fueron una de las mayores bandas de la historia y que no habrán otros iguales.

When I'm asked what kind of music I listen to, it's Death Metal, Celtic Metal, Industrial Metal, Classic Metal, Classical (Bethoven, Bach, Vivaldi etc..), and Pink Floyd. I have been an Industrial Metal guitarist since the 80's but since even before I played, any time I've ever been asked who I thought the best guitarist is my answer has always been David Gilmour. No, I've never heard him fly his fingers all over a fretboard like Edward Van Halen or Alexi Laiho or Yngwie Malmstein, but I've nevere heard anyone come even remotely close to being as able to express emotion and feeling through their instrument.
