I remember when Patrick Moore said it was safe to drink glyphosate. But when offered some he walked back saying I'm not stupid.
But I thought it was safe to drink.
And there are people thinking that corporations would care about lives.

As a US citizen this is absolutely terrifying. Especially since I went to the grocery store today and bought so much food. It’s just terrifying to know that even the produce I bought is unsafe. I just don’t know what to do. Living in the US is an actual nightmare

I'm so happy you're talking about this. I live in the EU but follow US health issues closely, american people need a better system. It can be done.

I'm Danish, my grandfather died to cancer possibly because of years of spraying crops (2008). My grandmother died from cancer to benzene as a cleaning agent (1999).
I can't believe it's still possible to buy a bottle of round-up here (until january, 2024). Also if we grew crops in groups that complimented each other, the crops themselves would fight off all these unwanted plants. Monocultural farming is absolutely horrendous to our planet as well.

Also great video, and I hope you get to move to the country of your dreams!

We ordered every plate for a while, and the food was coming from Canada. We always felt so good after eating it. Then they switched to the food coming from the US, and my whole family could tell a difference in how we felt. It was extremely eye-opening. It made me realize how badly we are being cheated in this country. We have all these people who are supposed to be making this country so 'great'. But in reality, all they are doing is taking $$ from big companies/ big pharma to allow them to keep poisoning this county.

Mam I m so happy to tell you that a public petition that had signatures has banned glyphosate unequivocally in my country India 🇮🇳 from December of 2022. ❤
I hope our American brothers and sister do the same 🙏

My ex husband worked as a landscaper for about 10 years. One of his jobs was spreading Roundup. With his bare hands and no eye protection or mask. It took a couple of months for him to realize that this was why he'd get super sick for several days afterwards. He took it upon himself to use PPE even though it was "safe".

Imagine all the migrant workers in the fields and landscaping industries who are exposed too but arent trained due to being "expendable ".

And, surprise, Clarence Thomas used to work for Monsanto.

for all the Canadians here: I know we like to brag about how our food has more strict regulations, and glyphosate is banned in 8 of 10 provinces. BUT Health Canada granted widespread glyphosate approval in 2017. It is being used here as well.
We have to fight to keep it banned because this is all driven by a LOT of money. While Canadian food may be a bit better than American, we still don't have the same standards as in Europe for example. When I travel to my mother's hometown in Russia I feel much better and can eat dairy without feeling gross. We deserve better than this.

This information needs to spread like wildfire. This is NOT OKAY that we are exposed to this everyday against our will.

Your 1/16th NDN joke at the beginning is part of why it’s so frustrating to hear about this type of stuff going on in America. My family can’t “yeet” ourselves away from this toxic environment to some “better European country.” We ARE real NDNs, and this is our home. The fact that this fucking government gets to destroy this continent and we’re stuck here under their thumb is so exhausting and feels hopeless. I have PCOS too, and nothing I do is giving me my energy back. We’re rotting away here…

My aunt went on this Mediterranean cruise. While in Italy she was found to have an abscess in her throat which had to be operated on. Minor surgery requiring an overnight stay and an antibiotic regimen.

Total cost of the surgery? 185 US. I actually think she was kind of lucky to have her issue over there instead of at home.

The problem with " Roundup " isn't just crops that are genetically altered to resist the herbicide. It is widely used as a ripening agent on many other crops to speed up the maturing process. These crops include wheat and sugar cane. Avoiding GMO crops does not protect you from glycosate exposure. In a Country that we have to pay for our own health care, they make money on our back, coming and going.

Glyphosate is the most commonly used agricultural pesticide in Canada, and many other places in the world. I don't know where this "Canadian food is clean" myth is coming from in the comments here...

I live in the US and I’m usually gluten intolerant, but when I went on a trip across Europe, I could eat whatever I wanted without a reaction.

Leeja, I don’t want to “umm actually” you, and that’s not what this is.
As a scientist with a medical degree, everything you said is correct. And, I have long been wary (understatement) of Monsanto. (And let’s not get into their copyrighting of genes.)
But there was an implication, rampantly help in progressive communities, that GMOs are bad.
Clearly, as described here a GMO that increases pesticide resistance ONLY to increase levels of a carcinogen in the crop and create usage practice that increases its levels everywhere in the environment, that is bad. But the GENE and the GMO are not unhealthy.
I bring this up only to say that GMOs can have increase edible material/calories in plant mass, decrease water needs of plants, provide deterrents to feeding by disease carrying insects. GMOs are our most likely chance to increasing food yield and decreasing water and carbon needs in our global agricultural system, feeding hundreds of millions of people at least.
Hate Monsanto, hate glyphosate, hate environmental deregulation.
But there is nothing wrong with genetic engineering as a technology (at least in food). Blanket rejection of GMOs is a poor idea.

In like 5 sentences you've somehow convinced me of the only compelling reason to get a DNA test lmao. Maybe I have a relative who can save me from America

In japan, the farmers don't use this kind of herbicide. The foods are healthy and I have no more digestive issues as I did when living in the us.

I have been talking about this for at least 25 years and everybody thinks I'm nuts. Eyes glazed over, "WTF dude, why do you care" level of "fuck off and stop talking about weird shit" levels of denial/rebuttal/LALALA "leave me alone to brutalize the world as I please I'm a 'Murican."

It is painful how available and irrefutable this information has been and how many of us have been fighting the fight in vein, for how long. You are doing fantastic stuff!
Liked, subscribed, and I will be using your channel to link people to the concise, factual, and logical dissection of the real shit! You are seriously FANTASTIC!
