Learn the value of open barrel connections for reliable connections and start moving way from soldering.

Videos that discuss the open barrel crimps and its advantages.

The Kits I bought after research.

- My research indicated that though this wasn’t the “very best” crimper out there, it is a crimper that will insure you have the ability to properly crimp all types of crimped connections. The tool works very well on the open barrel crimps, the only issue I’ve had is that I when splicing 3 wires together using the flat U shaped connections I have to switch the jaws over to the “solar” type of jaws. Not a big deal, just have to factor your workflow to making connections and then doing the splices. Based on actual use the key thing that these crimpers MUST HAVE is that they must be ratcheting type – this ensures that you can hold the open barrel connector in the crimpers while manipulating the wires with your other hand.

I agree - good vid. Consider using transparent shrink tubing instead of black, so that other people can see what went on there and inspect.

How many ratcheting crimps per connector two or four? In other words, does the crimper crimp both the insulation and the wire for one side both at once, or is that two seperate crimps?
Excellent presentation btw.

Sir, I have a question. On my driver's headlight on a 2912 Grand Caravan, I narrowed to problem to its positive wire only drawing 4 volts. The fuse box headlight location tested 12 volts.
Can I run the headlight positive to the positive fuse locations since the van doesn't have day time running lights?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, and remember that my skill or knowledge is nowhere near yours.
