Thanks for viewing all. I'm not only a socialist, I'm a communist - and here's why. The less than 1% who run this country, the financial and industrial monopolies, own the factories, machinery and land used for production of our most vital needs, like energy, food, etc. In other words they own the means of production. This is how they control this country and the politicians from president to city council. This gives them the power to poison the water in Flint, Michigan with lead (GM), or here in Vernon CA, pollute 10, 000 homes with lead in the soil (Exide Technologies), causing permanent and irreversible brain damage to especially children, and get away with it. That's just two relatively small examples compared to the destruction of peoples and our entire planet with wars and global warming. As senator I would work towards putting the ownership of the banks and major industry into the hands of the people so that WE can determine our future, not the less than 1% who warm our planet and kill our children. But, that cannot be done just through an electoral struggle - it takes a movement of the people which I have much experience in helping to build. This is why I'm part of the Workers World Party election platform with Monica Moorehead for president and Lamont Lilly for vice-president, because we have a different view than Bernie Sanders about the main contradiction holding back our society - and that is the private ownership of the means of production. So, everything we do, even in fighting for reforms must help towards building the perspective of the need to gain public ownership of the means of production and empowering our class toward taking control from the less than 1% (the ruling class). And we're also excited about the Bernie movement in terms of the people who are energized to fight against capitalism. So, since I'm running for senate and although I'd rather you vote for Monica Moorehead, you can vote for me and also support Bernie Sanders. In fact, we're hoping the Sanders supporters will join our campaign in actions against the police, for jobs etc that will be taking place up to the November elections. Hope that answers your question about my politics. The most important thing is to unite against a common enemy, even if we don't agree on tactics or solutions down the road - lets join forces to build a movement against police terror, racism, the theft of wealth from our working class while building solidarity with all sectors of our international working class by opposing drones and all forms of u.s. imperialst wars and proxy wars - thanks again for the comments - jp
