Just goes to show the luck involved to make an ace. Some people have over 5 and can't break 80. Some pros don't even have one.

My father played golf for 50 years. He got his first hole in one at 67 with a 3 wood from 180 yards. He passed away a year later. I'm glad I was there to see it ❤️

My dads been playing golf for over 30 years and has never made a hole in one. My mom played in a very small "for fun" tournament when they were younger and had barely played golf up until then and made a hole in one and also got in the local paper because of it.

My dad has still not gotten over it lol.

I'm 51, played since I was 14. I am an 8 index and have probably 6 to 8 hole-outs from the fareway for eagle, and even one with a 5 wood for a 2 on a short part 5, but not a single ace.

I've been fortunate to have four HIO, and my dad had none, and I would gladly give him three of them. I celebrated equally as much on each one. On one of them, I was playing with my Dad, and I don't know who was more excited, my Dad, my oldest daughter, and my best friend. That was the best part of all four!

I have been fortunate enough to have two hole in ones, have hit a flag on a third which didn’t drop and have had a fourth on the lip which didn’t drop, 11 handicap average, the two aces were average shots with incredible luck, the two near misses fantastic hits, that’s golf

That just tells you how hard golf is. It’s the most frustrating, hardest, and painful game you will ever play. If you can somehow overlook and power through all that it can be the most rewarding, joyful, and beautiful game you will ever play

Did my first HIO today, 19 yrs old, played for 3 yrs, 32.8 hcp. Never been this happy before, stunning feeling to make a par 3 in one shot.

Since i no longer watch the NFL, NBA, or MLB...the golf channel has become my go to. That was fun to watch on Sunday, plus the six person playoff where the dude cost himself a million bucks by missing a 3 ft. put.

been playing golf as an adult for about 6 years now, never got a hole in one. However, when I was 12 yrs old I was at the local golf course playing for probably the 4th-5th time in my life, I got a hole in one (was about 80-100 yards and the tee off area was elevated on a hillside) and ill never forget it.

point is luck is most definitely involved somewhat, but when you can do it half a dozen times that is definitely rooted in lots of skill.
