A collection of songs from the Free Planets Side of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes soundtrack.

One song (Bolero) didn't really fall on either side as it first appeared in the movie My Conquest is the Sea of Stars, so I decided to throw it in on the Free Planets Alliance Side.

Track Listing:
1. (00:00) Requiem Second Song "Tuba Mirum" (Giuseppe Verdi)
2. (01:47) Symphony No. 8 in G Major - Third Movement (Antonin Dvorak)
3. (03:39) Ball Scene (Josef Hellmesberger)
4. (06:02) Symphony No. 9 in E Minor - Third Movement (Antonin Dvorak)
5. (08:59) Symphony No. 3 in D Major - Fourth Movement (Franz Schubert)
6. (13:37) Bolero (Maurice Ravel)

Romantic Era Composition for the Free Planets Alliance, and Classical Era Composition for the Galactic Empire... I really appreciate the love this show has given to the great musicians, and how the story brought out the tonal painting that went into these works.

This music helps give the series that timeless feel that it exudes and makes it what it is today. Let us all be grateful that copyright came into play after the series was released (hence why the remake doesn't feature any of the classic orchestral songs).

I prescribe this anime (old version) to everyone who loves classical music at least a bit. OST is great but when in sync with whats happening in anime, its awesome.

One thing that really keeps me coming back is that this is the best recording of Hellmesberger's "Ball Scene"(3:46) in Youtube.

The opening piece definitely gives off the feeling of "VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!"

Fitting piece for the Free Planets Alliance stance against the Empire.

So I use these soundtracks in the background while playing Homeworld.
Wish I can start a mod project to bring the ships from this show into that game.

_And thus, for almost a millenium, German "princes" fought amongst themselves. All this in a desperate bid to prove which of them is more relevant and to rule over rule over all of Germany. And because they couldn't handle any banter, the serious discussion became a joke._

Anything from Verdis Requiem is pure kino.

If I may correct a bit, the first track is the one immediately after the real Dies Irae (Day of Rage), and it is called Tuba Mirum. Just clarifying 'cause I had some trouble finding it in the Requiem.

I'm doing my homework, while listenning to it.

This reminds me so much of the music from Howl's moving castle... but then again, it's music from the same era :)

I love this version of Bolero. I can't find this version in Spotify.

I know I'm going to get a torrent of profound language headed at my direction, but it's to cheesy to pass on.

The one disliker is Imperial scum.

Julian: Our side sure has some nice themes. What do you think Louis?

Louis: Nobody can escape his own fate.

Julian: Yes, you are right... but what do you think about the music?

Louis: Nobody can escape his own fate.

Julian: Whatever...

Louis: Nobody can escape his own fate.
