My dad had a masters in petroleum engineering. When the bottom dropped out in the 80s nobody would hire him because he was over qualified for the only jobs that were hiring at the time. He was jobless for months. The only way he ended up getting a job was because he stopped putting that on his resume.

“No one cares.” Is exactly what this guy needs to hear. You are on your own, no special privileges because you have a degree man. If you can’t find a job in your field then you’re the one who needs to step it up and make something happen. The world is filled with people who are smart and have skills that aren’t in demand, and they are broke.
