I love my birds! I spent a lot of time with mine when they were babies so they don’t get scared when I come near them and even let me pet them! (: I also like to feed them snacks with my hand. They love mealworms

I have 1050 Qual . I have a custom built Farmhouse style 16×140ft covered roof enclosure. They have a water feature & variety if dwarf tree's plants. They have a heated room for winter.

I raised quail fora while, they would b e OK outside in a pen with a predator proof environment. They are pretty cool, they have cons though, they waste a lot of feed and they poop constantly. I got tired of cleaning cages so they all went to freezer camp.

No Garage, no Balcony, no Basement! WTH!!!
Not to hotter than 27 °C, not colder than -12 °C for Japanese Quails, these are great Starter.
Not all Quails are the same. If you get yourself Japanese.
If they don't know you good enough, they would be scared.
With mine, I share my bed for a nap. They run by foot like a dog without leash. BUT I shared nearly my entire time with them... more than 8-10 h a day. I was the Alpha of the group. You have to earn their trust and love.

Kind of thinking cutting a square hole for door in back of my garage and fence in a box on back of garage so they can wander outside for sun and grazing but with protection of a fenced in box.
