I was in Germany in July and that was the first thing I got when I got out the airport. Nice to see you back on the tube.

One of the things I miss most about Germany is the Döner! Fun story: the owner of the Kebab stand in Landstuhl, the place we always go to to get one, got into a car accident, hitting my wife in her car. I was deployed in Bosnia when it happened, and she was pretty pregnant at the time and didn't tell me about it until a couple of weeks later. It completely totaled her car, because after he hit her and spun her around another car hit her on the other side. She kept telling the paramedics that her stomach hurt because she had to pee, but they wouldn't let her go because they thought it had something to do with her pregnancy. But everything was fine. She wasn't hurt and it didn't affect her pregnancy. Unfortunately, he's retiring this year so when we were there in June it was the last time I got to have one of his. And they were amazing!

Fun Fact: Berlin in the 70s/80s was the 3rd biggest Turkish city on the planet. 1st was Istanbul of course 2nd Ankara and nr3 was Berlin ;-) Döner in Berlin is as easy to find as Mexican Food in LA ;-) But Turkish cuisine has a lot more to offer than Döner, go visit a proper Turkish restaurant you won't regret it.

My fave gemuse kebab is over in Steglitz at Lauenberger Platz. If you make it out south/west of town, that's a great one in a nice little park.

Many a drunken night eating a Doner in or around Grafenwoer. Haha

Aren’t the traditional Doners usually a mix of lamb and beef? That might be the mint taste that is usually associated with lamb? Being not a fan of lamb, I always look for the hanchen. I know that when I was in Baden-Wurttemberg that they call a durum a yufka, so in other parts of Germany they have different names for the same item depending on where you are.

Pardon me if I missed it in a video before now but I just thought about it. When did the vegan experiment end?
