How to quickly test a solar panel. Voltage should be close to what rating is on back even on a cloudy day midday. Amps will be lower than rating if on a cloudy day- which is okay. You can test amps again when it is more sunny out.

Your probes are in 10A range. That's right. But your meter in mA range. How you get a correct reading. You have to set the meter to 10A range.

Hi, your amp reading is actually 0.38 A, but that is the true reality of a cloudy day with that type of panel.

Hmmm, the test lead is plugged into the 10A port, and the meter is set to the 200mA range. Back to the drawing board...

This test shows if the panel is functional... However, the problem with this test is no one ever actually uses the panels with a short circuit or open circuit. The real test is when you have an actual load like a battery that is low with a controller that is rated to use enough power to be measured accordingly. Alternatively you may use a power analyzer that would rate the output of the panel accurately.

What if your meter doesn't have 1000 dcv mind just has 250 and 2000m 200m then 20 200 250

you are sure about that? I think, you are using the multimeter wrong by putting red lead into mA range.

You just tested that panel with polarity reversed

The selection knob is on 200milli amps and not on 200 amps as you say.
This will damage your multimeter.

Your meter is set to read 200 mA and you will not get the correct panel output with the meter shading the panel!!! Suggest a little more background reading and repost your video.

Uh yikes! This is not the way you measure current with a multimeter! Look it up... never put the meter in parallel with a power source like this (connecting the meter strait to a power source). Only reason you didnt pop the fuse or blow your meter up is the voltage from solar panels drops significantly when a dead short is connected to it. I dare you to try hooking your meter up like that to a 12v car battery🤕
