those two elephants were/are a very big thing here in japan.
because of the war, people were afraid of the animals escaping from the zoos so they killed every single animal. and when the war finished, everyone was depressed, so when india sent two elephants, it was very big and everyone(especially the kids)in japan were so happy and it helped japan to rise again.

As An Indian I can say Gifting two elephants was a really good idea as now Japan have invested a lot of money in India

But gifting UN permanent seat to China wasn't a good idea
