Although Tesla only brought around 50 Optimus robots, the company may have already produced hundreds. Musk confirmed that integrating technology already developed for Tesla’s electric vehicles into Optimus has allowed the company to move at a faster pace than usual. This means Tesla didn’t have to build Optimus from scratch, but rather leveraged existing technology to quickly ramp up toward the goal of producing thousands of units by 2025.
According to Elon Musk, advanced technologies such as battery systems, motors, power electronics, and artificial intelligence from Tesla’s autonomous vehicles can all be applied to the humanoid robots.

I was a product manager for AI at GE Software and make videos on how AI actually works to make it able to do these things. Although these robots may not do all these things or hit these price points in the near future (remember how long it took to get a $40, 000 Tesla), the fact Tesla is heading this direction with their robots should make everyone take notice. Humanoid robots will someday be very serious machines for a wide range of tasks, including human jobs. There's also the danger that people will begin to believe these machines are actually thinking as they get better and better at imitating and duplicating the nuances of human motion and eventually speech. Hopefully that extreme can be prevented but unfortunately many people will incorrectly start thinking that way.

What would be nice if you can remote control the robot through VR assistance, let it go to the supermarket and control it from there to pick your groceries. Would be nice if you can also modify skins for the robot, make it freaking Robocop, a maid or whatever you wanna do with it lol. As someone who is barely getting by I'd pay 20k for that.

Imagine having a carer who won't rob you, wakes up when you are in need help (sometimes life saving) in the middle of the night. or just have copanionship when you are an isolated person. Imagine having a car that can take you if you are unable to drive without answering stupid or embarassing questions to a taxi driver. I for one love these innovations. Cannot afford it tho, maybe one day. This is amazing.
