Waveform Free 4OSC - New Patches

4OSC, the free additive synth in Tracktion Waveform Free is a surprisingly great synth. Make your own patches in 4OSC and you'll see what I mean. Here I demonstrate 6 very different sounds that can be got by tweaking the synth in various ways. 4OSC gives us control over the attack, decay, sustain and release of various aspects of the sound from the 4 oscillators using 3 ADSRs and 2 LFOs. I managed to make it bubble and wub as well as making organ tones and cello-like synth sounds.

4OSC is a fairly simple synth making it ideal for learning on, but it's powerful enough to carry on creating great sounds as you become a more advanced sound designer. If you own Waveform Pro, you'll be able to connect it with the DAW's own modulators in Racks too, giving you a whole lot of extra control.

Thank you,

Bren.

Thank you for these recent videos on the stock synth in Waveform. I was always very dismissive of it because it's so basic (compared to Surge). But it's actually fun to experiment with and learn about making my own patches

Thanks for your work on daws. I have been using a roland keyboard recently and it comes with Abelton lite which as you said is mostly for windows or mac. I have been trying waveform free but I tried to load some VST plug ins and it kept crashing so need to maybe work on why. Things like steps and arpeggiator only on paid versions unless you feel you can make a patch on a rack to do these things? Bitwig is great but I hear you need to keep paying for updates etc. I really like the ability to import split audio on abelton - at least I think it was. Maybe I'm wrong there! Should come for a drive to chat. Using Mint BTW.

Hi Bren, Just playing with the 12 demo. One thing I have not found out how to do is to automate sustain on a piano or similar track. I have seen it done on logic etc but is it possible on waveform pls.

Which do you use more this or bitwig.? Are the bitwig modulators that much better than waveforms? There seems to be a lot of them
