Tracktion 4OSC Synth Tutorial Overview

4OSC is a powerful yet simple to navigate subtractive synthesiser. It’s clean UI and small CPU footprint make it a great alternative to Subtractive for less complex sound design tasks.

You need to keep in mind that some people are totally new to DAWs. At no point do you address one simple question: How do you make the thing emit a sound? Look at this video. What BUTTON do you push when you make a sound?

For total noobs like myself:
right-click in the track that you have the 4OSC applied to and select "insert new MIDI clip". Then, you should see a lil piano pop up on the left of the track. This is the MIDI. You should hear sound when pressing a key. To record a sound, hover over the actual track and click where you want to insert a beat and adjust its length. When you hover, your cursor should turn into a pencil. If it is not, click the top of the midi clip and select the pencil icon.

Hello, when i use the 4osc in a track
I have no sound coming out. Same here in the master track....

I got a question I was able to setup the 4OSC on for the plugin to work it silences the other tracks. I want to be able to use the synthesizer and hear the track I already had and it’s not muted either.

Very helpful video, but how are you playing the patch? What key are you pressing? The only way I can do it is with a midi clip.

Uh no, the only thing the name suggest is that it has 4 Oscillators. But still 4OSC is a great synth
