How to install a plastic drywall anchor. When hanging decorations or home hardware on drywall it is important to use a plastic drywall anchor, also known as a wall plug. These special and easy to use anchors are installed by drilling a hole in the wall. The drill bit size needs to be the same width as the anchor or a little smaller to ensure a snug fit. Once the hole is drilled you push the plastic anchor into the hole either by hand or with a hammer. The handle end of a screwdriver also works as a hammer! Once the anchor is in the wall you can drive a screw into the anchor, causing it to expand and grip on to the drywall. It is now securely installed and you can hang your decoration or hardware on the screw. Be sure and use a large enough anchor that is rated for the weight of the object you will be hanging.

Psalms 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me...
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I appreciate your assumption that we all have no idea what we are doing and do not have the correct tools, you’re the MVP

"WHAT? YOU DON'T HAVE A HAMMER? YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT DRILL BIT?" (Applies to 85% of us watching this.)
I'm so glad this was the first video that came up on Google!

I like how you intentionally did it with the wrong drill bit. That may or may not be me all the time lol

I love your sense of humor and many scenarios. You made it easy and enjoyable to watch . Most videos they talk too much and leave room for questions . 😊

I’m a single mom with a house and seriously appreciate this! When you picked up the hammer, I mentally put it on my list of things to purchase. It’s like you read my mind and gave us the option of the other end of a screwdriver! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️ Will more than likely still pick up a hammer because it’s probably something I should keep on hand haha

So helpful. I bought my first drill this year and had no idea about anchors and whatnot. Your personality is delightful.

Simple and to the point. I’m not in the least bit mechanically inclined, and putting holes in the walls is intimidating because with my luck, I just know I’m gonna demolish the house. Thank you for explaining this in a ‘language’ I can actually understand.

Thank you for showing us this simple process. I use to do all this before I got married, afterwards I let my husband do it because it made me happy that he felt he was providing for me by doing all the "heavy work" & I actually didn't mind sitting back & just watching him do it all. I know there's many more like me but I seem to like to remodel at night. 😅 My husband works night shift but I can't contact him, so my last hope was going on YouTube & you're the first video I came across who's straight forward & talking my lingo. So thank you so much for helping me continue my midnight remodeling. 😂🙌🏼
God bless you sir.

Thank you so much! So simple, love the workarounds for the non pros. Just what I needed to get over my fear of ruining the wall with un-necessarily large gaping holes.

ive been putting off my project that uses wall anchors and this has given me the confidence to finally get started. looks much easier than i thought! thank you so much!
EDIT: i did it!! thank you so much for your advice!! the drill bits i had were either too small or too big and knowing that i could bore out the hole with a smaller drill bit saved me from so much frustration. thank you so so much for giving me the confidence to finally complete this project ive been putting off for 6 months!
