Shaving pubic hair in the direction of growth is the best or may be trimming it. But if you are used to waxing and that doesn't cause any boils or folliculitis I guess you can go for a waxing. But trimming is the best option. If you want to shave it in the opposite direction you can grow ingrowing hair or develop folliculitis which can be painful and recurrent. So be very cautious when you do. Trimming is the best.
