A small note if you want to really get the most out of the best method: because ores should generate randomly, digging in a straight line forever is viable. However if you want to optimize your mining, make multiple strips three blocks apart instead of one long one. That way you hit more blocks in given chunks and don't have to go super far out. Good luck!

The problem about crawl strip mining is that if your pickaxe takes less than 0.6 seconds to break a block, speed of crawling becomes the limiting factor

I think walking through caves would give you the highest ratio of blocks seen/blocks mined

For your kind information, wall strip mining isn't possible in bedrock unless you use water

Mining on a chunk border also helps, since there is a limit to how many ore veins can generate in a chunk.

That’s the best, and there’s no convincing me otherwise.

I find that people mix up the words “Wrong” and “inefficient” a lot.

Crawl mining is a huge hassle to navigate. Hole punch mining is better if you're less patient with slowly moving back to where you came

In my experience, it's not the mining itself that takes the most time, it's all the back tracking.
Eventually your inventory is going to fill up, and you going to make a trip back and forth, multiple times. Crawl strip mining means you go twice as far per block in your inventory, and crawling is a lot slower than sprint jumping in a two block tall tunnel.

Caving in a deep lush caves or deep dark is actually better because all you have to do is peel back a lot of blocks and you have a higher chance of finding large veins
