The Paint works. It's Infront of my house road in Arizona. It really reduced the temp from 135 road temp, to 105

In Australia use that paint to keep houses cool. Used to paints roofs.
I personally got ask to tasted the heat.
I walked on flat roof in the middle tropical summer in Townsville Queensland.
Roof was only warm to my naked feet.
Painting low speed road, footpath(Sidewalks), shopping street and car parks, even walls will make huge difference. But is the any ecological cost? not sure.

Ross cares more about what the stock is doing than the fundamentals/mission of the company. He is beholden to investors.

He wants to manipulate stock performance instead of let the stock figure out how awesome/dominant Tesla is on its own.

Short-term popularity contest focused instead of long-term execution focused.

Just a clarification on the Hardware 4 approval in the Netherlands. It doesn't mean they will get it first. The important news is that whenever 1 EU agency approves something, it's automatically approved in the rest of the EU. So that is the bigger more important news.

Hey Guys they put some of that reflective bitumen on some of the city streets here in (tropical) Darwin Australia about 3 or so years ago. It seems to hold up ok and it does seem to absorb less heat than the standard black bitumen. Do not know about the costing though. They do plan to do all the CBD streets over time as the roads need replacing.

Germany is ridiculously energy vulnerable geopolitically this winter and probably the next few winters as well. That government needs to be incentivizing or at least de-litigating any expansion of energy production and storage on already developed properties.

I was born and raised in Saskatchewan before I became a gad about. I can never remember a winter where we didn't have -40 C or F same shit at least four times. Winter there is not for the faint of heart. If you get any kind of a wind at those temperatures you just don't go outside unless you you really have to. If there is no wind at all as often occurs the smoke coming out of the chimneys freezes and comes down to earth/snow and will make a long tube trailing along the snow banks. It is really something to see from a warm interior. I didn't have to look at a thermometer to tell it was -40. I worked outside in construction and just went back to bed when I saw that in the morning.

White paint might turn out to have a positive effect on the temperature in LA, but so would planting a lot of trees to provide shade and evaporation to cool the air.
Question: what about the (usually white) lane markings? They will have to be dark, I guess.

As an addition to the story on Model 3 or Model Y for police duty a police officer needs to be aware of where they park and idle due to possible grass and forest fires. When I was certified for Radar and Lidar in VA. it was part of the training. Apparently the VA State Police had set the median on fire more than once. EV's take care of this problem.
