I got mine as a gift from my mom back in '95 after a big time ski accident (a rogue tree). Use it almost daily and it is still fabulous. I abused the arms once and lifted it improperly. That got replaced and it is the same ever since. The position retention knobs on the sides could use a ratcheted interface to hold position more durably. Otherwise, no problems. Now, with my achy breaky back, I sleep in it routinely. All the family loves it. Yes it was worth the cost.

I bought a pair of medium size chairs soon after getting out of chiropractic college. One of the best investment I've made. After 40 years of use, I'm replacing them with another pair, due to very cracked leather. Mostly my fault for not using leather conditioner. But after 40 years, they show no signs of breaking down in comfort or the support system. They feel the same as new ones. After a long session of movie watching, I have no sore spots or hot spots, no back pain or stiffness. Really great chairs.

So many Stressless product reviews on YouTube are given by the SALES people selling them. It's more like an Ad. Not the kind of Consumer product review I am looking for.

My seven year old $4000 chair needs all foam replaced at a cost of over $400. This is the second time for the headrest. Very disappointing. Don’t believe the sales pitch!

I have 2 wingback stressless recliners with wooden bases and ottomans. Extremely comfortable especially the adjustable headrests (almost total reclining) that allow for power napping. Gorgeous as well, in dark brown leather . Great purchase; no regrets.

I’ve had mine for 15 years and it has served me well throughout, having survived 8 moves. The option to buy different sizes is very helpful and, as a taller person, I’m glad they have a larger size. They are, to be sure, quite expensive but are really in a different category from mass market furniture. I think that they are very attractive, but everyone has their own taste, of course. I find it extremely comfortable, but if you are looking for a recliner that you sink into like a big pillow, a Stressless recliner is probably not going to fit your needs.

Mine is 30 years old and other than the ink marks from one of my kids is still in great shape.

I'm ready to buy either one of the Stress less recliners or an Eames Lounge Chair. I've tried both and they're amazing, but the Seamless would be a bit of a savings. The most annoying thing is how hard is it to try out and buy these chairs. And, in the Eames case, it's hard to find for close to MSRP (the major dealer that sells them is way overpriced but none of the cheaper vendors even bothers returning an email if you aren't a commercial client buying dozens of them 😔) . Very frustrating. It's like they try hard not to make a few thousand dollars.

I'm glad to see these negatives aren't functional failings.

I have 2 Stressless chairs. One is the power recliner, not 2 years old and now will not operate. Come to find out power version is new and still has problems being worked out also not nearly as comfortable as non power unit. Motor is in the seat portion. Am I happy paying $3, 500. for a chair that won't work after 18 months? Warranty work is in progress, 30 days now but still broken, asked to swap for non power chair was told no, they will fix it. Still PS, would not recommend.

I see all the trendy back shops sell Stressless. There's clearly a lot of money to be made in ergonomic equipment and accessories. I'm sure they're comfortable once you're in them. You rarely see video clips of people getting in and out of them, though. Unless you buy a power recliner that has one built in, you also have to get a separate foot rest. And as someone who has a recurring lower back issue, I'm not sure I'd want a recliner that swivels and rocks as I'm getting into it, never mind one that needs you to stretch your arms behind your head to pull on the head rest to get it into a sleeping position. My back would be in spasm in no time.

I wonder if these are as comfortable as the Nasa Relax Chair from Berg Furniture, they developed their
special Century Foam over the years.

Great video. Thanks for the recap.
Tyler, as you are talking in the Signature Base chairs, the chair is moving again and again. Is the classic base better for stability? It might be unsettling to watch television in a chair that keeps moving ever so slightly.

I've been looking at Stressless. Very pricey indeed and if you want a different color leather other than their default color selection, well, that's going to add another $600 or more to the cost. If you choose a better grade leather than their basic leather, that'll add nearly $1K. Plus tax, plus shipping with a ~10 week delivery. Yeah, costs for Stressless can add up pretty fast so better choose wisely.

Great selling points for such an expensive chair.

Very expensive . I bought after a compression fracture of back. Sit down & pain gone very fast. All people who sit in it love it and seek it out next visit.
Problems….very low. Have bad knees & torn rotator cuffs. I can no longer use. Anyone?? Ideas for raising the whole chair?
Back getting worse.

imagine being like "our product is the only one of it's kind endorsed by [insert any unsavory cult]" and thinking that's okay.
