Ekornes Stressless Mayfair Review

Ekornes, founded in 1934 by Jens Ekornes, has the reputation as one of the most well-built and comfortable furniture manufactures on the market. The stressless recliner, which is what we’re reviewing today, was first introduced in 1971 as a dedicated TV chair with an ottoman.
The chair is the icing on the cake to the full audio experience. In order to fully immerse yourself, you have to be free of distractions and comfortable in the environment. Which is why we have been searching for a furniture line with the quality and reputation that meets our standards for a while. The Stressless line by Ekornes meets those standards.

One of the many reasons we love Stressless chairs is for their solid build quality. From the cold, bent tubular steel frame, to the hand-stitched genuine Italian leather, these chairs are built for perfection. Ekornes is so sure of their product, the frame is backed by a ten-year warranty.

The patented Plus system is the heart of the Stressless support system. It allows the lounger to recline while maintaining neck and lumbar support. Making reading and watching TV in the reclined position possible. The patented recline function, which Stressless calls their Glide System, reacts to the shifts in your body weight allowing you to recline without holding tension in your body. Attached to the frame are three layers of foam and cushioning: Perforated foam that is directly molded to the frame featuring “Comfort-zone” technology for a more embraced feeling, a liquid filled “space age” foam that adds an additional pad for comfort, and a super soft polyester fiber that adds even more cushion and gives the chair its form.

Of course, like with all of our product reviews, we fully tested a Stressless chair. The chair we chose to test is the Mayfair. When we first sat in the chair, we immediately noticed the difference in comfort and support. Instead of being plush and sinking deep into the chair, the Stressless Mayfair supports all parts of your body. This support is what makes the Stressless Mayfair recliner so astounding. In a typical recliner, after long periods of sitting, you find yourself uncomfortable and repositioning yourself looking for that comfortable spot, but after hours in the Mayfair, we didn’t have the urge to reposition even once..
The Plus™ System is a unique feature. As you recline, the headrest inclines and the lumbar support forms to your back. When you’re ready for a nap, a simple tug on the headrest allows for it to adjust down to a level position.

The audio on this is AWFUL! Who decided to add musical noise? WHY?!

Hi, it's true that Stressless Mayfair recliner is great from an ergonomic point of view.

But is it enough confortable for sturdy people?

Which Stressless recliner do you think is the most comfortable for a sturdy person measuring 1.74 cm.

I highly appreciate your feedback because I want to buy two Stressless recliners and a sofa and in the city I live (San Sebastián-Spain), there are only the basic models.

But I would argue that there are 'even-more comfortable' loungers available for another Ten Grand... but then you'd have to ask yourself: Is my ass really worth that sort of money? Prob'ly not

My seven year old $4000 stressless chair need all foam replaced, this is the second time for the headrest foam. $400 every few years doesn’t seem like quality. Don’t believe the sales pitch. Look for another product!

Theyre beautiful chairs but they dont rock and terribly expensive i wouldnt buy one
