My Journey to Becoming a Helicopter Pilot

Omg this took so many takes to record this all on one shot hahhaha...I’ve been asked a lot about my journey and how I ended up in aviation. This was my 13 year life journey so far, and my experiences in a serious nutshell 😅 It was NOT always easy, and I’ve fallen victim to other people’s negative energy at times-but never really let that stop me. I learned to surround myself in my own bubble of positivity to keep me going. Always return back to the WHY you started out on a journey to begin with and keep pushing through it. The Coast Guard was a launching point for me, and was a service I felt secure in the fact it was founded on helping people and not violence. This post was all of the “good” parts, there were definitely some “not so good” parts along the way. I feel it is important to share both, and not sugarcoat the fact that events can and will try to knock you off course- of course! That’s life, growth periods are hard. But again, I only had one minute, so that will have to wait for now.

Did the GI Bill pay for all or part of your flight training? I really want to fly but I’m turning 29 next month, so my options of becoming an aviator through the means of the military are becoming slim. I really want to fly CG though, but I might just enlist CG and become an AMT and use the GI Bill to fly as a career afterwards.

Not any different from the others -Lieutenant Stephen
