This is Episode 16 of my Pakistan to Japan Motorcycle Series. In this Episode I explored the Historical city of Samarkand which is considered the heart and Jewel of Silk Route.

Pakistan authorities can learn a LOT from Uzbekistan on how to preserve and keep the historical sites intact. Look how clean, well-organized, and beautifully preserved everything is.

You forgot to mention that Bibi Khanum, the Registan and many areas were completely destroyed in a massive earthquake in the late 1890s. These areas remained as rubble for almost 80 years. All have been restored after Uzbekistan got its independence using original architectural drawings preserved for centuries. Simply amazing!
