I have to say that Getting Old is Murder by Rita Lakin is the best cozy mystery series this year. So far I’ve read 3 of them. They are all wonderful. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a bunch of these cozies on my tbr! Watching you talk about them makes me so excited to read them. My fave cozies this year were In the Company of Witches (and it's sequel), the Amish Matchmaker mysteries, Bait and Witch, The Southern Quilting Mysteries (I've read the first 3), and Saddled With Murder. The Beloved Bookroom mysteries and Six Sweets Under were also recent faves. I own The Maid and the Rocky Road to Ruin and I'm excited to read them, and I have Cheddar off Dead and Six Feet Deep Dish on hold from my library! So many fantastic books!! Gone Girl was also on my top books of 2023 list. I also knew the twist going into it but I was still blown away. Gillian Flynn is an exceptional author. If you haven't checked out her other books, you definitely should! I actually prefer her other 2 even though I loved Gone Girl as well

My top three were: Writers & Lovers by Lily King, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, and Dark Matter by Blake Crouch!

My favorite on going cozy comedy mystery is Confessions of a slightly Neurotic Hitwoman by JB Lynn, my favorite mystery series by Gigi Pandian is the Accidental Alchemist Mystery but I love all her books.

New subscriber! Enjoying going through your videos. I love mystery also but especially historical mysteries. I am rather obsessed with history. Being a retired nurse I do also like historical mysteries with a medical element. I just finished a cozy mystery called "Steeped to Death" by Gretchen Rue. It follows a woman who takes over her late aunt's teashop/book store.

This was a great wrap up and have gotten so many good recommendations from your channel. Thank you❤ The second book in the Maid series by Nita Prose is out and was a really good book as well. Like you, I mainly read cozies, mysteries and thrillers. However, my favorite book of the year was Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. It did have a mystery element but was so much more and highly recommend. Followed by Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. The writting was beautiful and really took me by surprise by how much I enjoyed it. Great wrap up of your favorites. I have read several of your picks and must read the Rita Larkin series. Have you read the novella introducing Veronica Ruiz, aka Vero from the Finlay Donovan series? It was so good and I love that she wrote this specifically for her readers as requested to get a background on Vero. It was short but done so well. Also I just finished His and Hers at your request. 😳🤯. So good and crazy. Enjoy your holidays. ~Mary
