This happened to me on my test at a set of traffic lights. Luckily someone let me move over and I was fine, but in the moment I was really nervous and thought I’d failed. As long as you aren’t getting in the way and causing an issue on the road your fine. This is a great tip to share! 👍🏻

Good morning chris such a great bit of wise advice as exactly what happended with me "before the sat nav was part of the test"....i took the slightly different route back to the test centre (that my instructor and myself took during many lessons ....) but it was the quicker route (not) the one my examiner meant....i told the examiner what i did and she passed me i was so happy it didnt result in a fail....take good care cxx

This exact thing happened to me on my driving test, i did exactly what you have advised (safety 1st) but i think that my saving grace was that i immediately explained to the instructor what i was doing and why; that immediate feedback was well received and i passed 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for this wonderful tip. I just got my license though but I didn’t take the test. I failed thrice when I tried taking the test because I have always been a nervous person and because of that I had to enquire about the DMV test drive until I was told to hire a licensed test drive specialist who helped me in getting my license, I on the other hand thought I was gonna get a provisional license since I wasn’t taking the test but to my greatest surprise I got a Class D license.

I was on a 70mph dual carriageway and my satnav directed me to take the exit. I missed the exit and on top of that, I was performing an overtake on the car ahead. Since I did that safely, I got away with it. I passed that test earlier this month.

Failed my driving test twice I rebooked it for 5 months though I’m going to try to take mock test every 2 weeks to see if this helps my nerves it happens mid drive though I had 3 majors on second attempt and 2 on first attempt I’ve been doing lessons for almost 2 years now I want to pass on the next attempt though idk what adjustments I can do as I have mild autism and adh I find the radio is a distraction though in my test

My understanding is that being on the motorway will never be asked of you on the test. If a wrong exit was to be taken since it's the safest option, but it also leads onto the motorway and the examiner intervenes to prevent you from doing so, would it be a serious fault??

Can someone tell me why hitting the kerb during parking maneuver is a serious mistake as it is not dangeroua to road users or someone else..
